Zymurgy version 1.0

First off, extract all files in this zip archive into the ...\FreeSpace2\data\missions directory. Next, put the emptymsg.wav in the ...\FreeSpace2\data\sounds directory so that you get notification of messages in the missions. Finally, hop into FS2 and enjoy!

Note: Zymurgy is a real word. It is defined in the command briefing. I was basically double challenging myself on this one by trying to tie the Simpsons and FS2 together while using the very last word in my 1974 Webster dictionary. What fun!

Strategy (possible spoilers)

Mission 1 "Run for the Money"

Double up your Trebuchets and switch to Maxim weaponry. Target the GTCv Jackson and target its one operational engine (Engine01). Cut loose. Double back and take out the "middle-men" freighters, and disable the two "Guardian" cruisers. The GTDr Amazon Adv. freighters shouldn't be too difficult to take out, and they're lagging way behind, so if you've got some fighters that need shaking, now would be a good time. Now you just dog it out with some Lokis while the Washington and your wingmen finish off the stranded, defenceless capital ships. Word of warning: Keep your distance from the Washington as it moves toward the node.

Mission 2 "Humidity Rising"

The nebula is really, REALLY thin in this one (without AWACS, you can target up to 10 kilometers away from your craft!). You'll probably notice some red beams shooting about, but follow the advice of Command and stay away. Soon some Ashemas and Nephilim jump in near the docking ring. There is a multitude of waves, but hold them off as long as you can (which won't be long). Soon, you get swarmed by Maras. Again, follow the advice of your buddies and rush toward the GTVA encampment. Fend off the last few fighters outside of beam range and return to base.

Mission 3 "Zymurgy"

There's about a minute lull to take in your surroundings while listening to the reasons you shouldn't drink and fly (courtesy of Delta 4). Perhaps you would like to look a the pretty scenery I spent 10+ minutes on! Maybe that cargo depot getting slaughtered is more interesting (don't try to save it by the way). Well, after your breather, the Rakshasa and Cain that were attacking the depot jump in along with their big Ravana class brother. It's best to avoid the cruisers and ignore the destroyer entirely (seven heavy beams and eight medium/heavy bombers are pretty effective) and go for the bombers that were launched from the Ravana. They are packing Helios and Cyclops torpedos, so be ready for some serious intercept work. It won't be long before the Ravana or your station blows up, but you can guess how Duff Industries will feel if you let them down!
